Join us on our journey: We are looking for a pioneering Manager of Data Science (d/f/m) to lead and grow our Data Science team with innovation, foster talent and teamwork, and drive our offering's growth in alignment with and exceeding Entrix's strategic goals. 

• Location: Munich, Germany
• Employment Type: Full-Time or Part-Time, indefinite term
• Salary Range: € 90.000 - 120.000 per year gross depending on the seniority level
• Hybrid work setup (min. 3 days in the office, 2 days in home office) + Workation up to 3 weeks per year
• Language Requirement: C1 Level English

Your Responsibilities

• As a disciplinary leader provide directions, coaching and support to the Data Scientists (currently 4 FTEs, plan to grow to ~8 by end of year) chartered to Research, develop, and adapt algorithms that unlock the capacity in the energy system through optimized returns in trading the flexibility of our assets
• Actively drive talent development in the Data Science team, individually and as a team
• Drive cultural change and a winning mentality; role-model collaboration and teamwork with peers heading other teams 
• Be responsible for the expansion and evolution of our cloud-based service offering, delivering innovation and differentiation, based on technology leadership solid fundamentals and a lean research and implementation process
• Collaborate with the executive and leadership teams to set the vision, strategy, algorithmic roadmap and long-term goals that align with the business objectives, achieving Entrix's success
• Fail-fast, as part of the tech leadership team, accelerating product delivery without sacrificing excellence is what we are inspired by, finding new ways of working, using technology, breaking habits, limits and ceilings. Especially for a data-science team the balance between exploration and delivery is crucial and needs to be clearly demarcated and managed
• Foster technical excellence, drive best practices contribute to our open, data driven engineering culture
• Building, iterating, deploying and maintaining code from scratch to excellence

Your Profile

Mandatory Requirements

• Master or advanced degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, Physics or a related field
• 8+ years within Data Science or algorithmic software development and leadership, with 3-4 years as an individual contributor in the data science field
• 3+ years of experience working on production grade data models with traditional and ML components
• Demonstrated success in managing and leading high-performing Data Science teams
• Excellent communication skills with the ability to convey technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders as well as collaborating on deep technical concepts with your peers and team
• Track record of successfully delivering technically advanced data products on time
• Ability to support in the research, challenging our current technology choices as well as assisting in bringing the models to production
• Excellent English communication and interpersonal skills

Sébastien Schikora - Chief Technology Officer

Hi there!

I'm Sebastien Schikora, serving as the CTO at Entrix since June 2022. My diverse career journey has provided me with a range of experiences with a deep dive in the energy industry and the functioning of the grid specifically. In the last years, I was:

• CTO at KONUX from September 2018 to April 2022, where I played a pivotal role in shaping the company's tech landscape and products.
• Sr. Manager at Tesla from November 2015 to July 2018, leading the development of energy storage systems and mobile apps.
• Vice President of Product Development at Networked Energy Services (NES) Corporation from October 2014 to November 2015, launching a new company and product line in the grid digitalization space.
• At Echelon Corporation,  I held various roles over six years, including Director of Product Management and Development in the Grid Modernization Division.
• Before my endeavors in the Energy Industry I was working for Hewlett Packard in the Enterprise Software group for a little over 10 years.

I'm all about pushing the boundaries of technology and driving progress in our industry. I spent the majority of my career in the Silicon Valley in California and apply a lot of the methods and drive to my workplace here in Munich.
