Short Facts
Join us on our journey: To drive a smart and sustainable energy future, we are looking for a proactive and experienced Technical Project Manager – BESS Onboarding & Implementation based in Munich. In this role, you will be the driving force behind bringing new customer assets live on our platform. You’ll orchestrate the end-to-end onboarding process—aligning customers, partners, and internal teams—to ensure smooth go-lives, regulatory readiness, and scalable implementations.
Location: Munich, Germany
Employment Type: Full-Time, indefinite term
Salary Range: € 70.000 - 85.000 per year gross depending on experience
Working Mode: Office-first set up
Language Requirement: At least C1 level proficiency in English and German
Your Responsibilities
As a Technical Project Manager – BESS Onboarding & Implementation, you will sit at the heart of our growth engine: ensuring new customer assets transition seamlessly from contract signing to live trading on our platform. You’ll be the orchestrator who turns complex technical and regulatory requirements into a smooth onboarding process, making sure go-lives happen on time, at quality, and ready to scale.
What you will do:
Own the end-to-end onboarding journey
Take responsibility for bringing new BESS assets and co-locations live, from clarifying technical and regulatory requirements during the sales stage to actual go-live, while keeping customers, partners, and internal teams aligned and accountable
Deliver smooth and timely implementations
Translate technical, regulatory, and commercial requirements into clear project plans, ensure milestones are met, and proactively remove roadblocks
Be the coordination hub
Act as the main point of contact for customers during onboarding, liaising with EPCs, DSOs/TSOs, energy service providers, and internal Operations, Product, and Tech teams
Ensure compliance and readiness from day one
Coordinate data flows, system setups, and regulatory registrations to guarantee operational compliance (e.g., market communication, telemetry, REMIT)
Standardize and scale
Build templates, checklists, and playbooks that make each onboarding faster, clearer, and more predictable
Spot risks early and solve them cross-functionally
Identify potential delays or technical issues, lead structured problem-solving, and align internal and external stakeholders on quick resolutions
This Role Gives You Impact and Opportunity
You’ll have a real-world impact
Every project you deliver takes a BESS from blueprint to live operation, accelerating the energy transition in real terms
You’ll build the system behind the system
By creating repeatable onboarding processes, you’ll lay the foundation for further scaling all across Europe
You’ll grow into a unique expert profile
This role gives you visibility across customers, grid operators, product, and engineering, opening paths into leadership or deep technical expertise
Your Profile
We’re looking for someone who thrives on structured execution, clear communication, and proactive ownership —someone who loves turning complexity into clarity and enjoys the mix of project management, customer interaction, and technical systems.
Mandatory Requirements
A degree or equivalent in Engineering, Energy Systems, Industrial Engineering, or a related field
3+ years of experience in technical project management, system implementation, or energy/infra onboarding
Proven track record in managing multi-stakeholder projects with tight deadlines
Familiarity with energy assets, grid connection processes, or energy market operations
Strong organizational and communication skills—able to keep both customers and internal teams aligned
High sense of accountability and reliability in delivering on commitments
Business proficiency (C1+) in English and German
Skills to Set You Apart
Experience working with BESS, renewable assets, or critical infrastructure projects
Knowledge of regulatory frameworks (e.g., REMIT, Transparency Regulation, KRITIS/NIS2)
Hands-on familiarity with telemetry, metering, or SCADA integrations
Background in consulting, technical implementation, or customer-facing engineering roles
Ability to work with project management and ticketing tools (e.g., Jira, Confluence, Notion)
This role may not be a fit for you if…
You prefer working in the background rather than coordinating multiple stakeholders
You avoid direct customer interaction or technical discussions
You are uncomfortable with ambiguity and fast-changing priorities
You don’t like to work with automations, process improvements and standardization
We are committed to diversity - of all backgrounds and experiences. You don’t need 100% of the preferred qualifications to add incredible value to our team. If you’re passionate about what you could accomplish here, we’d love to hear from you.
